Examine Act II as a photojournalist. What four pictures would you use to summarize the act? Describe or draw, or find each of the pictures, then explain each of your choices.

Sorptimists International – Gift Certificates for projects related specifically to women.
4th Annual Aboriginal Recognition Awards secondary, elementary and middle school student awards for outstanding projects featuring First Nation, Métis or Inuit role models and/or content (three separate prizes) and an Aboriginal student award for strongest, most accurate presentation at their level (content aside).
888 (Komox) RCAF Wing of the Air Force Association of Canada Bursary ($500) – best project related to military aviation in grades 10-12.
Courtenay Rotary Bursary ($500) – This award will go to the Grade 10, 11, or 12 student who produces the best project related to helping others.
Courtenay Parks and Recreation – Gift Certificate for a project related to healthy lifestyles.
Francophone Association – Best original project in French on a theme related to French language, culture, and/or heritage in Canada. This is for students in grades 10-12.
MP’s Award – One week, all expenses paid, to the Terry Fox Youth Centre in Ottawa – Best project 10-12 on a contemporary Canadian political issue. 2009 topic: Canadian Arctic Legacy and Stewardship.
Navy – $200 – for the best presentation on any aspect of the history fo the naval service of Canada from 1910 to the present day.
School District #71 Award for Excellence (Permanent Trophy and Keeper) – best overall school (K-9) based on average of scores.
Wing Commander’s Shield for excellence in military history – This award will go to the Grade 10, 11, or 12 student whose project examines an element of Canadian military history. Judging criteria will include attention to detail, historical accuracy supported by the records, and where a controversy exists a balanced presentation of both sides made, with the rationale for the side supported by the student explained.
The award will include a trophy to be held in the school, and a wall plaque for the winner to keep. The winner and two runners up will be offered an all day deluxe tour of 19 Wing, to include a variety of state of the art simulated experiences and real world Air Force experiences.
World War I
Went over introductory notes on World War I and discussed trench warfare.
